In a recent interview, Aamir Khan spoke about his decision to begin working on his dream project Mahabharat after the release of Sitaare Zameen Par. Here’s what he said.
Bollywood superstar Aamir khan is currently busy with his much-awaited project – Sitaare zameen parwhich will be released in theatres on June 20, 2025. The actor was last seen in Laal Singh Chadha alongside Kareena Kapoor Khan. Unfortunately, the film could not manage to win hearts and failed to set the cash registers ringing at the box office. In a recent interview, Aamir stated that he would start working on Mahabharat after the release of sitaare zameen par.
Aamir Khan to retire after Mahabharat?
In a recent interview, Aamir Khan stated that Mahabharat is his 'Dream Project'. While Talking to Raj Shamani, Aamir said that Mahabharat could be his last project, as he feels it would satisfy heim as an actor. He also said that he could not do anything after Mahabharat. He said, “Layred hai, emotion hai, scale hai, har cheez hai usme. Har cheez jo duniya me hai woh aapko mahabharat me milegi.”
He even said that he wanted to die with his shoes on and continued saying, “I hope that I die with my shoes on, lekin kyuki aap puch rahe to ek hi cheez hai cheez hai cheez hai cheez hai jo main soch sakta sakta sakta hu. Shayad yah kee Baad Mere Andar Woh Emotion Aaye Ki Ab Iske Baad Mujhe Kuch Nahi Karna, Shayad. “
While talking to The Hollywood Reporter sometime back, Aamir spoke about Mahabharat. “That’s one of my biggest ambitions,” he stated. He also said that the writing process will take a few years and he will be joining the team as one of the producers. He revealed if he will be acting in the film too and said, “We’ll see who we should cast based on who’s appropriate for which part.”
Aamir was left shattered and heartbroken after the release of Laal Singh Chadha. He had a lot of expectations from the film. The movie starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya, Mona Singh, Manav Vij and others in pivotal roles.
Sitaare zameen par is directed by Rs prasanna and stars genelia deshmukh as the female lead.
