AI 171 Crash: ‘Stay Strong India’

Priyanka Chopra Jonas joined her industry colleagues in mourning the loss of lives in the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.

The London-bound plane was carrying 242 passengers and crew, and crashed into residential quarters of the BJ Medical College in the Meghaninagar area, minutes after take off on June 12.

Air India has confirmed the death of 241 people in the plane crash, with one passenger miraculously surviving. The incident also claimed the lives of medical college residents as the plane crashed into the building.

In a post on her Instagram Stories, Priyanka wrote, ‘So so sad. Praying for everyone affected, and the families facing unimaginable loss in the Air India tragedy.’

Salman Khan cancelled an event for the Indian Supercross Racing League in the wake of the tragedy, and condoled the deaths: ‘Deeply saddened to hear about the Ahmedabad plane crash. Heartfelt prayers for the families of the passengers, crew and all those affected.’

Shah Rukh Khan posted on X: ‘Absolutely heartbroken with the news about the crash in Ahmedabad… my prayers for the victims, their families and all affected.’

Aamir Khan posted via his handle Aamir Khan Productions, ‘We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash that occurred today. At this moment of profound loss, our thoughts and condolences are with the families of those affected. We stand in solidarity with the individuals, communities, and responders impacted by this devastating event. Stay strong India. Team AKP.’

Farhan Akhtar posted, ‘Deepest condolences to all who have lost a family member or a friend. Hope and pray that you find the strength to cope with this unimaginable loss. Thoughts are with you at this incredibly difficult time.’

The makers of the Dhanush starrer Adds have postponed the pre-release event of the movie, scheduled on June 13, after the devastating air crash.

Taking to their X handle on Thursday, the Adds makers posted, ‘The pre-release event of Addsscheduled for tomorrow, has been postponed in light of the tragic Ahmedabad flight crash. We stand in solidarity with the grieving families.

‘Our hearts go out to all affected by the devastating plane crash in Ahmedabad. We extend our sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims. May you find strength in this difficult time.’
